Adopting

So I have decided to start a family. For most of you who know me well, this will not come in anyway as a surprise. After a lot of careful thinking, praying and discussing I have decided to start my family by adopting. I have spent several months researching different adoption agencies and places to adopt from and have finally selected an agency.

So now comes the hard part, the waiting and all the paperwork. I have chosen to work with the agency that will help me adopt internationally. This was a long process of thinking, praying and pro/con lists to decided domestic versus international. I have decided to try and adopt a child from Ethiopia and in the midst of all the paperwork I am beginning to research the country that my future child will come from.  I am very excited about this next step in my life. I have waited to start a family until I knew that my heart and home were ready.

But beyond the difficulty of waiting is unfortunately the expense of adopting. This is not a cheap adventure by any means yet, I know the rewards will far outweigh the cost. In an effort to help me defray the costs of adoption I have finally been convinced to sell some of my photography. There are the links on the home page to purchase photos or other merchandise I am selling. There is also a link if you are willing to just donate to help me out.

I NEED TO THANK SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO GENEROUSLY SUPPORTING ME IN THIS PROCESS. FIRST,  Keith Kissel who has helped me clean up my photos and has generously donated some of his own work for me to sell. Matt and Jess, who have helped me make a website that looks decent. Katie, Kate and Jeff, Steph,  Adrea and Shaka, Stan, Jenny and Stuart, my parents and to so many more people, that I can not even begin to name them all. A girl could not ask for a more supportive group of friends and family. You are the best and I can’t wait to have a kid that gets to know all of you all. Thank you for embarking on this journey with me.
